Nick Nicely (a familiar ‘figure’ to Fruits de Mer Records’ discography) is back on vinyl with a gorgeous double A-side, two songs (one original and the other a cover) that recorded especially for FdM label. So, Nick is making a surprisingly subversive revision on Dylan / Hendrix’s “All Along The Watchtower”. Full of psychness with lots of ‘psychedelic elements’, this is not a simple cover. In just 4:20 min, Nick is managing to completely deconstruct this classic song and to re-built it with his own remarkable psychedelic style! A daring irreverent re-incarnation unique version! “The Doors Of Perception” (what a lovely title that can bring so many different things in your mind) is constructed with tapes from Nick’s current Live show plus studio vocals / guitar, a modernized musical experiment flirting with Psych, pushing boundaries and moving on the edge… Epic stuff!
