Arno Boytel, is a French Composer, Singer, Bassist, Guitarist, and Multi-Instrumentalist. He has released 2 CD albums (“Sunflower”, 2009 and “Spleen Social Club”, 2012). In 2020 Nasoni Records released his 3rd album “Death Trip Machine” (LP), and in May 2024 Clostridium Records released his 4th LP album “The Oracle From the Windy Road and His Colored Dimension” under the moniker Arno Boytel’s Special Deliverance, Special Deliverance is the project of Arno. All music and lyrics are by Arno, Arno also is responsible for Vocals, Harmonica, Organ, Bass, Acoustic And Electric Guitars, Mellotron, Mandolin, and Various Percussions. Bandcamp mentions “His Group takes you by the collar, head first on a Trip Voyage Into a Murky. No holds barred Swampland of loud sounding Guitar, of past divinities illuminated by Candle light, between the boundaries of Science Fiction & Supernatural”. The music in “The Oracle From the Windy Road and His Colored Dimension” is generally moving to a Folkie path with various admixtures such as acid, progressive, psychedelic, and even space rock. The LP album consists of 12 songs, equally divided to the 2 sides of the LP. The opener “Back To The Roots” uses an acoustic acid psych folkie environment with a tribal-like drum beat and some trippy electric guitar sounds, a track that slowly transforms into a Psychedelic Elegy or may I call it a Modern Psychedelic Liturgy, anyhow the whole atmosphere here gives you the feel of a fairytale introduction… The same Folkie acoustic scenery is on “All Over Again” too, this is a nice sing-a-long tune, with a happy guitar sound that leads the track while the Mandolin adds some of that early 70s magic of the Prog bands of the era, and at the end, there’s that harmonica that gives a cool Bluesy edge. “Desolation Land” is one of the strongest moments in the album, the kind-of-distorted vocals along with the psych trippy torturously slow electric guitar make this an amazing Acid-Psych eerie folkie tune! “Beyond The Temple And Valleys” is another acoustically trippy track, drenched in mystery and strange folk-ism, there’s acid and psych spread in the air while the scenery becomes mystical emerging a fairytale-ish aura… Cool! “The Oracle” is a fantastic little piece of acid folk psychedelic music, 107 seconds of pure magic! The album closes with another strong moment, the magnificent “Save Yourself”, a track that blends equal amounts of Psychedelia and Folk under a tremendous thrifty lo-fi psychic background with an intense guitar sound capable enough to “open” new horizons… Side ‘B’ opens with the acoustic harmonica-dominated folkie “If Days Are Counted” and follows with “Bad Luck Woogie”, a great “deranged” Psych tune which is my highlight of the album, there’s tons of lo-fi Acid, a track that flirts with Folk and the so-called Americana, this is a dark mystical Psychedelic Trip to a cursed Swamp during the midnight hour! “Into The River” is another acoustic Folkie tune with a sweet Mandolin sound and a rather trippy-like guitar. “Colored Dimension” is a psychic balladesque track with a special type of singing that goes back to the mid-60s and all the great folkie troubadours of that time. “Old House” is acoustic, and slow, emerging a feel of melancholy and nostalgia… Eventually, the album ends with “Windy Road”… Another HIGHLIGHT! A trippy guitar drenched into “mushrooms”, a natural mystic Psychedelic troubadour song, this is Folkie occult Psychedelia of the 21st century! Wow! Do, yourself a favor and grab it now, you can thank me later… TimeLord Michalis
