Sendelica is back with another double vinyl LP album. “Requiem For Mankind” is released through Fruits de Mer Records label and it is the last “chapter” of a “series” album… Here’s the informative press release to get an idea of what is all about:

“Requiem For Mankind is the final instalment of a series of studio albums by space rock/psych rock/ambient electronics band Sendelica examining Man’s relationship with religion, magic, myths, himself and our planet.

The series started with ‘And Man Created God’ which looked at man’s relationship with religion, followed by ‘One Man’s Man’ which examined the history of Homo Sapiens, where did we come from and more importantly where are we headed?

‘Man, Myth & Magic’ explored man’s myths and was intended to be the final part of a trilogy but, after completing the recordings, band leader Pete Bingham felt there was more to say regarding the future of mankind – and this led to ‘Requiem For Mankind’ – the final part in this series.

Pete Bingham explains all (or some)… “When we finished the Trilogy of albums about mankind, I had a few niggling doubts, a few remaining questions…… How will it all end for Mankind?, and for the Planet Earth? These niggles grew and grew and eventually led to the recording of the 4th installment of the albums about mankind. ‘Requiem For Mankind’ was born out of necessity, a quest for answers where no answers existed! Who knows where Mankind is headed? Who knows the future for Planet Earth…”

What is certain though is that the core of Sendelica was again ably aided and abetted by a couple of guests in the form of Finlands finest Santtu Laakso on keyboards (Chaos) and Calli on sensual vocals (Requiem For The Planet)…”

So, “Requiem For Mankind” consists of 4 sidelong instrumental tracks, one on each of the 4 sides of the double album. “In The Beginning (Cosmic Slop) + Let There Be Light” is a long instrumental piece of experimental improvised music, flirting with Ambient, Space Rock, and New Age Music. “Let There Be Light + Requiem For The Planet” has a cool electronically flavored krauty intro with lots of Spacey effects, a track that slowly transforms into an improvisational dreamy soundscape with a strong cinematic aura. On “The Downfall”, Sendelica creates a serene soundscape, this is a little jazzy-flirting with a trippy kind of dark ‘psychic’ cinematic (again) dreamscape scenery slowly transforming into a slow Progressive Rock anthem that dangerously flirts with Space! “Chaos + Requiem for Mankind” has an electronically flavored deeply Spacey start, then a trippy Krauty-Rock beat sets the rhythm, slowly the scenery becomes dark, experimental, and heavily Spacey Ambient, and can easily be described as inspirational cinematic music… Grab it… TimeLord Michalis
