CORAL FUZZ – You’re So High / Mystic Eyes (2025, 7”, Sunnyboy66 Records)

RELEASE INFO:
Label: Sunnyboy66 Records
Format: 7”, EP Single, Limited Edition, 120 copies
Release Date: 22 Oct 2025
When Coral Fuzz dropped their debut 7-inch “Love is Done / Isos Na’nai Arga” earlier this year (check my review here), it felt like a hazy breeze from some lost ’60s basement gig had blown straight through the speakers. Now, just five months later, the fuzzed-out threesome returns – not with a whisper, but with a full-blown Garage-Psych storm. “You’re So High / Mystic Eyes” isn’t just a follow-up, it’s a scorched-earth statement. Pressed on wax and straight from the garage, this new 7″ EP is a lysergic love letter to the wildest corners of the underground, soaked in reverb, attitude, and a healthy dose of vintage chaos.
And blink, you might miss it: only 120 copies worldwide (Sold Out on Pre-Order in only 24 hours), a fleeting artifact for the true heads… Let’s drop the needle.
Two tracks. Two sides. One hell of a trip… (Bandcamp)
Side A – “You’re So High”
Like catching a sunstroke in the middle of Sunset Boulevard circa ’67, “You’re So High” hits with a rush of reverb and raw, fuzzed-out attitude. It’s a fast-lane anthem for the modern garage-psych heads, drenched in echo, soaked in swagger. The beat’s got that unmistakable ’60s shake, all hips and heartbeat, while the guitars snarl and shimmer like heatwaves off a desert highway. Coral Fuzz channel the West Coast spirit with uncanny ease here, sounding like they were born somewhere between a Nuggets comp and a backyard acid test. It’s short, sharp, and dangerously addictive!
Side B – “Mystic Eyes”
Flip the record, and things take a turn toward the hypnotic. “Mystic Eyes” dials down the tempo but turns up the trip. Anchored by a swirling, over-saturated organ that feels like it’s melting through your mind, this one leans hard into the psychedelic shadows. The guitar still fuzzes, but it’s the organ that steals the spotlight — a spectral presence weaving through smoke-thick rhythms and lyrics that echo in your head long after the track fades. It’s ghostly, groovy, and deeply evocative — like finding a forgotten acetate from 1966 that somehow sounds like now… TimeLord Michalis
