YESTERDAY’S THOUGHTS – Paper Ship 2017 (LP Trip Records)

All these 8 years since their last LP “A Moment To Pray” in 2009, the band kept on composing, filtering all of their personal moments – good and bad, happy and sad – dressed them with their fav 66 Texas Garage Psych sound resulting their BEST album so far! Any single one of the 14 tracks of this LP, could easily make up the “attraction” song of a Peebles or a Nuggets comp in some 30 or 40 years from now! The effect that has this record upon the listener is more than magical, is mind-blowing! “Lonely Road” is a moody acidly drenched tune, “You’ll Gonna Pay” is a Garage Hangover indicating the familiar by now ‘Yesterday’s Thoughts Sound’. “Guide” is an inexhaustible source of melodies; “So Many Faces” is one of the best agonizing garage-o-psychedelic ballads ever! “In This World” is an electrified “Prune” track while “Now I Have To Go” is a wild n’ scream stoned one. What follows is a new deeply haunted version of “Faces In The Dark” (originally on their first 1999 EP). “Who Is The Man” is a wild garage-punk orgy. An instant ’66 Garage Classic is “You Put The Blame”, Farfisa and vox lead you into a roller coaster trip that makes you shiver down the spine! The bleeding danceable screaming punky “Don’t Be Afraid” follows. Then, the Elevators meet Sky, jamming on a Prune’s Garage under Bonniwell’s supervision, all these inside the self-titled “Paper Ship”! “Petty World Of Pain” is reborn from its previous moody dark ashes (also originally on their first EP), so that the acid complexion of the song could be shown at last! “Gonna Get You Some Day” is the ABSOLUTE Garage sing-along tune! The last track, answers the eternal query. “What is Garage-o-psychedelia?” This! And it’s called “I Will Remember”! Please listen to it while relaxed, the mind blending killer Farfisa solo can cause serious Brain Damages! How are they doing this? Is a gift? A charisma? DEFINITELY YES! The album “Paper Ship” is the ideal marriage between Garage and Psychedelia! An Endless Melody Generator! This album has created a Genre of its own! Oh, my Soul has been extremely Garage-O-Psychedelized! (TLM)
