Londoners Green Seagull are back with a brand new 7-inch vinyl single! So far they have released 3 Singles and 2 LP albums (on the now sadly defunct Mega Dodo Records) and 1 Christmas Single on Snowflakes Christmas Singles Club. With their new single “Lightning Girl” are launching a collaboration with French label Rogue Disques. On their Bandcamp page, the info says that they’re “taking influence from studio-scene psych, west coast jangle, and baroque harmony pop”, and that on their new release “the band adopts a harder, more urgent edge, aided and abetted by new guitarist Dan Davies (formerly of Wolf People)”…
The 7-inch Single contains 2 songs. The ‘A’ side “Lightning Girl” is a happy Groove-a-delic powerful Popsike anthem with dynamic vocals, distinctive catchy keys, and a Psycho-Active tremendous guitar Sound! Superb! The ‘B’ side “(They’re Coming For You) Barbara” is a mid-tempo kind of sing-a-long tune, drenched into some wonderful Glam-Rock (early 70s) atmosphere!
