Sacred Buzz is a new band coming from Berlin, formed in the summer of 2023. Sacred Buzz is a quartet with Psych, Garage, and Krautrock influences. The band consists of Ivan Skvortsov (Guitar / Vocals), Jane Skvortsova (Keys), Luca Büttner (Bass), and Max Storck (Drums). On August 28th, Sacred Buzz released their debut 7-inch vinyl single “Radio Radiation / Rebel Machine” through the Irish label Fuzzed Up & Astromoon Records. Also, the label has announced that later this year, they will release a full EP in physical format, as well. An LP album will follow next year, so this means Sacred Buzz will keep us pretty busy for the next months. But, let’s have a look (ear) at these 2 songs of theirs. “Radio Radiation” (5:10min) uses a garage-y krauty HAUNTED-like theme with keys coming straight out of the mid-60s US Garage teen scene and a superb guitar sound directly from “Back From The Grave”, surrounded by a hallucinated drum rhythm and lo-fi psychic vocals, resulting a phantasmagorical Garage-Psych song filled with Groovylicious ‘patterns & designs’, it’s a colorful and deeply 60s-inspired Garage Psychedelic song! On the other side, we have the faster “Rebel Machine” (2:58min), speeding up, full reverb, full fuzz, full energy, lo-fi ‘buried’ vocals, a lovely kind-of-distorted instant Garage-Punk-Psychedelic classic!
