Coral Fuzz return with a statement of intent. Their sophomore full-length, the self-titled “Coral Fuzz”, released in June 2026 by SunnyBoy66 Records, finds the Greek trio pushing their sound deeper into the swirling universe where Garage Rock, Psychedelia and raw Fuzz collide. Recorded with an unmistakably analog mentality and an unpolished DIY attitude, the album captures the band’s explosive live energy while expanding their songwriting with hypnotic grooves, dark psychedelic atmospheres and powerful, riff-driven eruptions. Loud, uncompromising and soaked in vintage spirit, this is a record that refuses to sit quietly in the background—it demands maximum volume and total immersion.

Formed in Greece, Coral Fuzz have quickly established themselves as one of the country’s most promising underground garage-psych acts. The band consists of George Papakostas (vocals, electric and 12-string guitars, acoustic guitar, organ, harmonica), Manos K (bass, backing vocals) and Argyris Aliprantis (drums, percussion, jaw harp, backing vocals), with notable guest appearances on this album by Ren Water (lead vocals on “Beach Ghost” and backing vocals on “El Segador”) and Nicky Kokkoli (saxophone on the title track).

Although still early in their career, Coral Fuzz have already built a concise yet impressive discography. Following their debut LP “Fata Morgana” they return with “Coral Fuzz” (2026, SunnyBoy66 Records), a confident second album that confirms the band are not simply revisiting the past but reshaping it through their own contemporary vision.

The album bursts open with “Reflections In My Mind”, an instant adrenaline shot that wastes no time making its intentions clear. Explosive from the very first second, it perfectly balances Coral Fuzz’s trademark melodic touch with a glorious blend of Farfisa organ and fuzzed-out guitars, resulting in a dazzling slice of 21st-century West Coast Garage-Psych. Close your eyes, and you’re cruising down Sunset Boulevard with the car radio turned all the way up. The title track, “Coral Fuzz”, follows with irresistible rhythm and effortless coolness, radiating sun-soaked Garage vibes while inviting everyone onto the dancefloor. By the time its closing section unfolds, the shimmering Laurel Canyon-inspired guitar work elevates the song into pure late-’60s Californian bliss.

Originally released as a 7-inch in 2025, “Love Is Done” loses none of its impact here. Driven by a pounding rhythm section, fuzz-laden guitars and that unmistakable Farfisa sparkle, it delivers bittersweet melancholy with remarkable restraint. “Mermaid Girl” slows the pace without sacrificing the groove, unfolding as a wonderfully hypnotic mid-tempo number whose irresistible rhythm makes standing still almost impossible. It’s a peculiar sensation, like surfing through an endless desert beneath a blazing psychedelic sun.

Another previously released single, “You’re So High”, remains one of the album’s most infectious moments. Overflowing with reverb, swagger and fuzzy attitude, it captures the reckless excitement of the ’60s Garage explosion while sounding entirely fresh. “Linda’s Game” shifts into another laid-back groove, wrapped in warm, bittersweet summer melancholy. The reverberating guitar lines possess an oddly seductive quality, adding a subtle sensuality that lingers long after the final note fades away.

The brief instrumental “Prelude” serves as a dramatic 58-second curtain-raiser, building anticipation before one of the album’s undeniable peaks. “Beach Ghost”, featuring the wonderful Ren Water, explodes at full throttle with maximum fuzz, relentless speed and enough raw energy to soundtrack a wild chase scene straight out of Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!. George and Ren trade vocals brilliantly over roaring guitars, creating one of the finest modern Garage-Psych revival tracks heard in quite some time. It is simply exhilarating from beginning to end!

“Let You Go” returns to Coral Fuzz’s irresistible Garage-Surf-Psych formula, overflowing with sunny Los Angeles daydreams, infectious melodies and beautifully saturated fuzz tones. “Outlaw” pushes the heaviness a little further without abandoning the band’s unmistakable identity, leaning deeper into Psychedelia while maintaining its Garage backbone. As the song progresses, it embraces cosmic textures with complete confidence, making it another clear album highlight. “Psychedelic Jeans” keeps the momentum flowing with effortless groove, rich fuzz and an enchanting psychedelic atmosphere that perfectly captures the band’s melodic instincts. Finally, “El Segador” closes the journey at breakneck speed, drenched in reverb and distortion while tipping its hat to today’s Los Angeles Garage revival scene. It’s a thrilling finale that leaves the listener wanting to place the needle back at the beginning and experience the whole trip all over again.

With their sophomore effort, Coral Fuzz prove that the spirit of ’60s Garage-Psych is far from becoming a museum piece.
