PATRICK CAMPBELL-LYONS – You’re A Cloud, I’m A Comet 2017 (LP+CD Market Square Music)

A 5 years friendship with Patrick will not let me be objective, but I will try my best. Relocated the last years in Athens, Greece, Patrick hadn’t waste his time and took advantage of his meeting (we helped a bit) with multi-instrumentalist/producer/arranger Costas Stergiou plus a few more musicians and all together materialized what Patrick had in his mind, presenting us a really cool album, collecting memories, feelings, stories, moments in time, through the 11 songs. The whole album acts like an autobiographical one, with a variety of instruments (great use of trumpet among them), emerging very strong feelings of joy or melancholy or reminiscence. The other half of legendary NIRVANA, Alex Spyropoulos is also participating in one song! Patrick’s voice is so mature, like the good old wine, capable to travel the listener into some colorful dreamy landscapes of the mind! Believe it or not, I detected some of Simon Simopath’s magic inside this album and this is a real achievement for Patrick! A Dreamer who works with sounds silences space and emotions to make something real, tangible… Celts and Greeks do connect at the source… Euphoria! (TLM)
